Overdue Update!

Hello All. I know it has been a while since I have posted, but we have been crazy busy around here. I wanted to make sure when I sat down to write the posts, that I was able to give it the attention it deserved..........fair warning; this is a loooongggg one! LOL ;)

First of all, we would like to talk about "SURF EXPO 2009"...........Kristy and I spent August 21st-23rd at Surf Expo in Orlando. What an amazing experience. This was the first time we have done a exposition of this size that put us on the wholesale side in lieu of the retail side. We had a great time, met some amazing people and were thrilled to bring the Reel Sassy products to market. This was also the first time that the new "fashion" line of products were debuted. The "fashion line" consists of several rhinestone products, 2 new scoopnecks and a long sleeve shirt with our "lateral marlin tattoo" art, a new burnout v-neck shirt and a dress. The burnout and dress have a very large "vertical marlin tattoo" design down the side. We have also added some additional products to our accessories which include a cowboy hat, license plate, marlin belt, flip-flops, additional sunglasses and soon to be available release flags. We were very pleased by the amount of traffic through the booth and to the response of the buyers about the products. Through the expo we were able to expand our growing list of retailers to be able to bring the products closer to all of our sassy girls out there. I will be updating the list of retailers in a separate post and I will also be uploading photos of the new products as well.

We also would like to take this opportunity to give you an update on some of our upcoming events. We will be taking Reel Sassy on the road again next week and heading to Tampa! That's right we're hitting the Tampa Boat Show! We can't wait. We met some great girls from the Tampa/St. Pete area while we were in Orlando and we are hoping to catch up with them again while we are over there. This is the first time we have done the boat show in Tampa and we can't wait to bring a little sass to the west coast! If you are going to be in the area or if you are planning on attending the boat show, make sure to stop by booth #207 and say hi! Tell us you saw this post on Blogger and we will hook you up with a Reel Sassy sticker! The Tampa Boat Show is an on-land and in water event that is held at the Tampa Convention Center.

September 18th-20th we will be back home and we will be at the Martin County Nautical Flea Market and Seafood Festival. Can't wait to be in our own back yard and hang out with out local sassy girls! This is the first time time this event is being held and they will be holding it at the Martin County Fairgrounds on Dixie Highway. It is being billed as a "Massive Maritime Event" which will include seafood vendors, live music and shopping galore! You won't miss us.......from the main entrance of the event we will be right there, booth #201! As always, make sure to stop by the booth and hang out with us some. We'll hook you up with a sticker if you say you read it here!

The last weekend of September we are very excited and proud to be a part of the 1st Annual Mike Shield Memorial Fishing Tournament which benefits the after school programs at the Boy's and Girl's Club of Martin County in Palm City, FL. We will be there on Saturday afternoon at River Palms Fish Camp & Cottages! We hope to see you there!

WOW! Do we have to a lot to report!!!

I know that it has been way too long since my last post. It has been absolutely crazy around here! We have added two new retailers since my last post......

First of all we would like to welcome The Fishing Center which is located in the Treasure Coast Mall in Stuart, FL. Please make sure to stop by and see Clint and the boys. They have a great selection of products including clothing, sunglasses & accessories. We are super excited to be a part of a great store right here in our back yard! The great thing about The Fishing Center is the hours...Monday-Saturday from 10:00am to 9:00pm and Sunday from noon-6:00pm. Secondly, we are spreading the sass around by adding our first retailer in South Carolina. Welcome to sassy-land Haddrell's Point in Charleston! We have had an overwhelming response to the girls in Charleston so it is fabulous we now have a retailer in that area that the girls can access anytime they wish! Mike and his entire staff are great and if you are near the area make sure to stop in and tell them that the "Sassy Girls" sent you!

NEW PRODUCTS! That's right.........there are new products! There are in fact a ton of new products to report. Rhinestones, long sleeves, short sleeves, scoop-necks, cowboy hats, release flags, dresses, burn-outs, license plates..........See, I told you there was a TON of them!!! We have a scheduled photo shoot for tomorrow morning and we will upload new photos as soon as we have them in our hands! Stay tuned.....much more to come about this!!!! :)

We also are very excited to tell you about a tournament that Reel Sassy is involved with this weekend. The Virginia Beach Bluewater Classic is going on right now and Reel Sassy is a proud sponsor of this event. Not only is there great money up for grabs for the participants, but there they are an amazing group of people. Reel Sassy products are on sale and a portion of the proceeds are being donated back to charity!! We can't say honored we are to be a part of this tournament. If you are near Virginia Beach this weekend, make sure to check it out!

With an early morning photo shoot scheduled and much work to be done with the new products, I am going to sign off for tonight, but we will be uploading photos as soon as we get them!

I also want to take a second to thank all the girls out there who send in their photos of them sporting their Reel Sassy gear. Shame on me!!

My goodness, I can't believe it's been almost 2 weeks since I posted. Where has the time gone? Oh, that's right........ICAST in Orlando, meeting with new dealers, graphic artists, marketing, emailing, phone calling, husbands, kids and family! OK, so I don't feel so bad anymore! LOL

Seriously, things have been very hectic around here (as usual) but this time it is for great reasons. First of all, ICAST was fantastic. We loved being surrounded by the best of the best in the industry, making new contacts and ordering new products for the Reel Sassy girls out there. We have several really amazing new accessory products that should be coming in in the next 2-3 weeks. We are also in the production phases of 5 new apparel products that will also be arriving over the next month. We have really taken into consideration everyone that has contacted us about what they would like product wise. Just to give you an idea, we will be releasing a new slogan tank (you'll have to wait to find out what it is) in a brand new color along with a couple items to round out your wardrobe. I think everyone will be pleasantly surprised to see where Reel Sassy is going.........

We do one have two new sunglasses that are in stock and ready to go. The light pink pearl and dark pink glasses we currently carry are now available in black. Same great fit, and of course they are polarized. We also have a new dark pink pair of fashion glasses that are round frames instead of the square frames we currently have. They are very Jackie O. and O-are-they-cute! They have a more narrow arm, but are just as comfortable and also polarized. They are not on the website yet, but if you would like a pair, just let us know.

We have been working very hard over the last week on placing new dealers. We have several exciting one's in the works and we should be able to give you all the info in the next week or so.
In the meantime, please don't forget to let us know if you have a favorite retailer in your area that you would like to see carry the Reel Sassy products, to please let us know. All we need is their name and location and we will do the rest of the work. :)

We're getting ready to head to O-Town.........Kristy and I are out of here for a couple of days heading to Orlando to spend some time at ICAST. Can't wait to see some old friends, meet some new one's and market, market, market!

We also have some really exciting news in the works about a new retailer.........unfortunately, we can not disclose tonight, but by Monday everything should be in place and we will let you know. It's going to be great for all our "Sassy" girls out there! Stay tuned.....

How about a little bling??? We know everyone loves a little glitter and shine so that is why we are adding some rhinestones to the line. Exact details and photos should be released in the next couple of weeks! Don't worry, you are going to LOVE it!

Retailer Updates

It's been a very busy week for us adding new retailers to our growing list. First of all, we are very excited to announce the addition of Saltwater Style in Ocean City, MD. We were first contacted by the owner, India Bandorick a couple of months ago. She said she was in the process of opening a retail store and an online boutique to feature apparel, gifts & accessories for the "Saltwater Lifestyle". She had run across our products on Twitter and said she was very excited to include Reel Sassy as one of her lines. Well, after she got everything up and running we were contacted again by her and she has now placed her first order and the Reel Sassy products are on their way to Maryland! We have had a great response from the girls of Virginia, Maryland and Delaware so we have no doubt the Reel Sassy products are going to move like mad in Ocean City. Thank you India! We are very excited to have you "come aboard Reel Sassy".....

Her online boutique is now up and running so we ask that you check it out at http://www.saltwaterstyle.com/. She has some really great gifts! The Saltwater Style store is still being built and India says the doors should open early December - just in time for the holiday's!

I know, I know.......

Yes, I know it has been way too long since a last post has been made. I have been a total slacker...well, maybe not a slacker, but I was on a little hiatus! LOL ......Be warned since I have been gone for a while, this may be a long entry; but well worth the read.

Everything is fabulous in "Sassy Land". I just returned off a much needed vacation my husband while the "other half of the sass" was holding down the fort. Of course, she did an absolutely amazing job while I was gone (no doubt by the way). In fact, she was very, very busy! Last weekend was the "Ladies Lets Go Fishing" seminar held in Stuart, FL at the Pirates Cove Resort in Port Salerno. Reel Sassy was a proud sponsor of this event and Kristy was there to represent the company both days. As a vendor on Friday night she met a lot of great new girls from all over who attend this fabulous event billed as the "No Yelling School of Fishing". (For more information, please check out their website at http://www.ladiesletsgofishing.com/) This traveling seminar teaches everything a lady should know about fishing including bait rigging, trailer driving, inshore and offshore fishing techniques along with a fashion show and silent auction. She was also there on Saturday to participate in some of the skill stations and promote the Reel Sassy product. We highly encourage any girls out there who would like to know more about fishing techniques, or new products to be a part of this amazing event. You know how much you want to go fishing and teach the guy your with a thing or two.........This is your chance. Don't miss their last event of the year in Islamorada. Make sure to sign up now.

We would also like to mention that our latest retailer, Strike Zone in Melbourne, Florida has had an overwhelming response to the Reel Sassy products. Seems like the girls of Brevard County are sassier than we thought! Not only are they big fans of the "Reel Girls Fish" tank but it appears as though their are also a lot of "His Best Catch" girls out there. Thanks again for showing your support of the Reel Sassy products by visiting all of our retailers. We have worked hard to bring the products to excellent, reputable retailers so you can get your hands on them. Wow - what a fabulous weekend!!! Reel Sassy was EVERYWHERE!! We had a great time this weekend at the Square Grouper in Jupiter, Friday & Saturday night. We had a great time seeing faithful "Reel Sassy" customers and met a ton of fabulous new people. This was the first time our slogan tank top "Reel Girls Hook Up" was debuted in front of a large crowd and the response was overwhelming. (Thanks again to our Facebook group members for choosing such a great saying for our tank!!). I will be posting photos in the next blog........make sure to check them out!

We also had a vendor's table at Willougby Country Club on Saturday night for the "Gathering of Goddesses" event which benefited the Boys and Girls Club of Martin County. Kristy and I went and set up for Janice who ran this event for us. (Thanks Janice!!) AMAZING!! is all I can say - the silent auction & raffle items were fabulous. We are sad we missed all the "Goddesses" who came out to support such a great cause, but we were glad we had someone to represent for us! Janice reported the turnout was great, the food was fabulous and the girls were even better! We will have some photos of this event to post as well. We are also making sure we put this on our calendar for next year!

We are busy working on setting up new retailers. In contract with one in Ocean City, MD and also one in NC. We will keep you posted on the details once everything is set.

Hello All -

Just a quick little note today to let everyone know that we are very excited to announce a brand new retailer of Reel Sassy products. Strike Zone in Melbourne, FL has picked up the line and we will be delivering products to them tomorrow. We are stoked to bring Reel Sassy to Brevard County. We are also in negotions with a retailer in Okeechobee as well. This means that anyone from Hobe Sound-Melbourne will be able to pick up products from our fine retailers and not have to wait for shipping!! It's about time the Melbourne and Okeechobee girls got "Sassed"!!
If you are living outside of these areas and you know of anyone that owns or works in a boutique, gift shop, outdoor store or tackle shop, please forward us their name and contact info. We will contact them and see about bringing the products closer to you.

We are also working on 2 newsletters which (we are hoping) will go out this week. The first will be our customer appreciation newsletter which will have a coupon code for a nice little discount on orders placed online. The other newsletter will also have a discount for new customers only. The only way you will receive a newsletter is if you are on our mailing list. Sorry it has been a couple of days since the last post. Things have been even crazier around here than normal. Our main focus over the past two weeks has been working on our photo shoot and getting the products updated on the website. Well, our photos are done (they are super cute) and we are getting them to our website guy this week. Hopefully within the next 2 weeks all the new products will be on the site and all of the updates will be complete! We can't wait for you all to see them!

Other than that, we are still just plugging along working on retailers in Northern Florida and the East Coast. Still in talks with some great folks up in the Charleston Area and the Atlantic Beach, NC area. So remember, if you are reading this and you don't have a local Reel Sassy retailer near you, just send me the name of the store and I will do the rest of the work!

I have been reviewing the photos all afternoon that we took on Saturday. They came out great. Can't wait to get them posted to the blog and the website. Again, another big thanks to Tristine Davis (www.tdavisimages.com). Can't wait to get them finalized and published. So many exciting new things we can't wait for you all to see!

Kristy and I have been in negotiations all afternoon on a new venture. A little early to discuss in full detail, but let's just say it is exciting and a great way for all of our local Martin, St. Lucie, Palm Beach clients to get their hands on the products right away and not wait for shipping! We will totally keep you updated as all deals are finalized!

This is the time of year where many of our boat captains (and mates) wives/girlfriends are being left at home.....We know how it is, time for the guys to spend the summer in the Bahamas, Bermuda and St. Thomas. We were thinking this would be a great time to start posting some funny little cartoons, quotes or anything else you may have to the blog so we can at least get a laugh while we are left here to take care of everything on our own! So, if you have something you would like to share, please email it to me at kewing@reelsassy.com.

Sooo Excited!

Hi!

Reel Sassy will be shooting new photos tomorrow for the website! We have a TON of new products (or updates to existing products) that need to be shot and we will be reshooting some of the original products. We are very excited to have Tristine of T. Davis images with us again tomorrow. Check out her website at http://www.tdavisimages.com/. She does some really cool boudoir shots! (When you want to get your sexy on, give her a call!) So hopefully this wind will lay down some tomorrow and the rain will hold off until at least the afternoon. We will be updating the website and our Facebook pages as soon as we get the photos back. Make sure to check back for the updates. Also, we would like to thank River Palms Cottages & Fish Camp in Jensen Beach for allowing us to use their beautiful facility to shoot photos. If you have never been to River Palms, check them out at http://www.riverpalmcottages.com/. They have the cutest little cottages right on the St. Lucie River you can rent and they have a gorgous chickee you can rent for special events like weddings, parties or reunions.

It's been another crazy week around here. (What's new???) We have spent most of the week getting all the products ready for the shoot this weekend and of course we are still busy trying to lock in retailers from Georgia-Delaware. If you know of anyone with a bait and tackle store, outdoor sports store or boutique that you think needs to carry the Reel Sassy product, please send us their name & contact info. We will do the rest.........

If you have been on the website lately you will notice that we now have links to our Facebook Group page, Blogger & Twitter. We try to update everything at least every couple of days, so make sure to follow us. We will be doing specials that will only be offered on these sites and not through the website. Don't miss out!

Hello and happy Monday ~

Wow. So much going on so I wanted to make sure I posted some of the highlights from the weekend. I am going to start with the new products. YEAH! Our new tank top "Reel Girls Hook Up" is in and it is soo cute. Thank you to all of our Facebook Group members who took the time to vote on the newest Reel Sassy slogan tank! Check out how cute it is!

On to other new product news:

The spaghetti strap tank has been redesigned! It is still available in pink and black, but it is now embroidered and super fabulous! The pink tank has electric blue stitching and the black tank has a beautiful teal stitching. Must have for summer!

The v-neck has also been redesigned. It is now a little longer length, still available in black only and has a really classy silver embroidered logo.

The wide strap embroidered tank has also been redesigned. It is a little bit thicker material (now a 2X1 rib) and features the Reel Sassy signature logo in pink embroidery.

Reel Sassy is now the official sponsor of "Ocean Eyes" sunglasses. We are super excited to promote their fine line of polarized sunglasses in PINK!!!! They are available in two colors; light pink and dark pink. Both have gray lenses. Wait until you see these must have fashion glasses. Not only are they light, but they polarized and adorable!

Baseball cap lover??? Well, we now have a light pink baseball cap featuring the "RS" logo on the front. I personally love a baseball cap and this one fits all my very picky requirements. It is a true ladies fit (won't rub the top of your ears), has a shorter bill and a Velcro back for the perfect fit. LOVE it!

I almost forgot about our Lil' Bit Sassy line. (shame on me!) We now how the signature pink tank for the kiddies in additional sizes. 3T, 4T, 6-8 & 10-12. They are the exact same as the adult wide strap tanks.

We do have other great things in the work, so make sure to stay tuned. We will keep you updated as new products as they are released.

Kristy and I spent Friday night in downtown Fort Pierce at the monthly Friday Fest. We had a great time and met some fabulous people. It is very exciting to continually be out in front of our customers and hear the feedback about the products. Remember, these products were made for you so we want to hear what you have to say!

Saturday the Harborage/Reel Sassy team fished the Frances Langford Memorial Tournament. We heard our girls had a great time offshore fishing with Captain Billy aboard the "One Call". The girls caught 6 nice dolphin all while sporting their Reel Sassy gear! We do have a couple pictures, but more are coming. Hopefully I will get them up in the next post. We are very excited we could be a part of this great event!

Quick post this morning. We are very excited that new products are set to arrive today! Our brand new slogan tank "Reel Girls Hook Up" along with our new spaghetti straps and v-necks should be done today! We are very excited and can't wait to see them along with the fabulous additions to our Lil' Bit Sassy line.

We will be in Fort Pierce tonight at Friday Fest. If you are in the area, please stop by. It is a great event located at City Marina in downtown Ft. Pierce. There is also a boat show this weekend and other great marine events being held. Should be a fabulous time.

The Reel Sassy/Talkin' Tourism team fishes tomorrow in the Frances Langford Memorial Fishing Tournament. Good Luck Ladies - we are rooting for you!

Busy Busy Busy..........

After a crazy week last week we have made quite a bit of progress. We sent several new products into production including a new V-Neck, baseball cap featuring the "RS" logo, spaghetti strap tank top and several new products for our new kids line; Lil' Bit Sassy! We are very excited that our Facebook Group members have chosen the winning slogan for the tank top contest. "Reel Girls Hook Up" will be the next slogan tank top and it also went into production today. We should have finished products in our hands in about 2 weeks. Other exciting news includes the addition of pink sunglasses to the line. Reel Sassy is the proud sponsor of Ocean Eyes and we have added their oh-so-super-cute pink "fashion" glasses. All of the new items should be on the website in a couple of weeks. We will keep you posted!

Kristy and I both enjoyed some quality family time this weekend and we also got to enjoy a Sunday afternoon at the Stuart sandbar. We had several Reel Sassy sightings and we were happy to even get some photos sent to us that we could post on our Facebook Group Page.

This coming Friday, May 1st we will be bringing Reel Sassy to Fort Pierce Friday Fest. This event is held the first Friday of every month (weather permitting) and takes place right at City Marina in downtown Fort Pierce. This is a very special Friday Fest as the city is also hosting a boat show this weekend along with a fishing tournament, seafood cook-up and other great events. Make sure to stop by the booth if you are in the area. We would love to say hello!

Almost forgot also this weekend is the Frances Langford Memorial Fishing Tournament in Jensen Beach. Reel Sassy is the proud fashion sponsor of a great group of lady anglers. These gals will be fishing aboard the One Call. We wish the Talkin Tourism of the Treasure Coast/Reel Sassy team much success & Tight Lines!

Great Fun at White's Tackle

Kristy and I spent this past Saturday at White's Tackle in Ft. Pierce. We were a part of their Grand Opening and the Shimano Tour. The Shimano Pro Tour Team was on hand to do demonstrations, seminars and to meet and greet. Traffic was heavy in the morning with a lot of people coming out to check the beautiful new 5000 SF store. We are very pleased to have White's as one of our retailers. Not only are Scott and his entire staff super nice, but they are also hilarious!! If you have a chance to stop by and see the store you really should.

We have been busy with our tank top contest....The first round of finalists have been chosen and the winners are......."Knotty Girl" submitted by Newt Cagle, "Reel Girls Hook Up" submitted by Mike Readling and "Live Bait" by Michele Jaycocks. Now it is up to our Facebook Reel Sassy group members to select the winning Tank Top slogan. We can't wait to send it to press which will happen this Friday. We will update the blog first thing Friday morning to let everyone know what the final winning tank is. We really appreciate everyone sending in their slogans. We had an overwhelming response.

Next on the agenda is to continue working on adding retailers up the coast. If anyone has a favorite tackle shop, ship store or boutique they think would be a great fit for Reel Sassy products, please let us know.

It's been a week?

See, I told you we get sidetracked and then before you know it a whole week has gone by......
Things have been very busy around here. Easter weekend - fun in the sun, Easter baskets, hiding eggs. You know the usual stuff.

Poor Kristy - her whole family has been sick all week with a stomach virus. She has been extremely busy with that and with trying to keep up with all of the entries for our tank top contest on Facebook. We had a ton of entries and now she and I are going to pick our favorite three. We will re post those three to our fans and let them pick the winning "Reel Sassy Slogan Tank"..........We can't wait to see what the fans will choose!

Kristy and I will be bringing Reel Sassy to White's Tackle in Fort Pierce this Saturday. Whites just opened a brand new (beautiful store) and they have invited us to come up and celebrate with them. They will also be hosting the Shimano Tour this day. Whites is currently one of our retailers and we will have on hand our full line of products. We are very excited to be a part of this event. Stop by and see us!

So, it's been another crazy day around "Sassy" land....Kristy just returned from her trip to Pittsburg with the kids for spring break and we are cleaning out our inboxes....FUN FUN!

We are trying to finalize our plans for out kids line; Lil' Bit Sassy. Thinking of maybe adding some smaller sizes (12, 18, 24 mos) and some new products. We debuted this line at the Palm Beach Boat Show where we completely sold out! With the feedback from our customers we will be adding this as a full time line and will get the products on the website soon! If anyone out there has specifics they would like to see, just let us know!

Tomorrow is the start of a long weekend which hopefully includes a little bit of work and a whole lot of play. Boating, sunning, family, friends and sandbar fun are on the agenda!

Crazy Weather....Where are you Summer?

So, what exactly going on with this weather? It was in the 40's last night - high of 70 today and just 2 days ago it was 90 degrees? I don't know about all of you, but I am ready for SUMMER! Boating, fishing, hanging out with friends at the sandbar......bathing suits, tank tops, flip flops & cold adult beverages! Ah, I got way too excited there for a second.

Since we are on the topic of summertime and summertime clothes, keep in mind that now is the time to stock up on your Reel Sassy summer gear. Of course our slogan ("His Best Catch" & "Reel Girls Fish" tanks) are always a must have, but remember that we always have your basic summer wardrobe essentials. The black spaghetti strap tank top and the chocolate and teal wide strap tank are two of my personal favorites. I am also very excited about the Reel Sassy beach bag. It is PERFECT! (I don't use that word often, so when I do, I mean it!) It is the perfect size, the perfect color, has the perfect outside and inside pocket for all the "stuff"we wind up hauling around with us on the boat or to the beach. It also has the "perfect" vinyl liner on the inside. That's right - a vinyl liner! So, when you pull the bathing suit off of the kids or throw your towel back in it, the bag doesn't get ruined! Love it!!!!

Well, I am going to go check the thermostat as I just can't seem to break the chill in here and get back to work. I will continue to dream about lazy afternoons hanging with the kids and friends at the sandbar - maybe by this weekend my dreams will come true, the weather will change and I can use my absolutely perfect beach bag for something other than a diaper bag....

FINALLY!

Hello All!

Kristy & I have been talking about blogging forever.......and FINALLY we have done it! You will have to excuse us for a while while we get used to the format. There were several items we wanted to accomplish with our blog. Obviously, it is a format for us to reach out to many people and introduce them to Reel Sassy. This will include announcements of new products, sales & specials and updates on events & shows we will be at. We also will be posting photos of happy customers, us traveling and just random Reel Sassy information. We will diligently try to update this regularly, but between husbands, kids, running companies, being the maid, accountant & taxi driver - sometimes we get a little backed up......

We also felt like it would be fun to have a venue for women (wives and girlfriends) of captains and mates to congregate. After all, we are the backbone behind all these men that get to travel to beautiful, exotic locations while we are here taking care of the houses, kids, bills & pets! LOL. Sometimes we need to vent - sometimes we need some advice and sometimes it's just nice to hear what other women (left behind) in this industry are doing & saying! Hopefully we might learn something new from each other or at least get a much needed laugh.

So, basically you never know what we are going to be blogging about. It just depends on our mood at the exact moment we sit down at the keyboard to type. You may get an update about what is going on at "Reel Sassy Headquarters" one day and the next you may get nothing more than a great martini recipe! So, stay tuned yo never know what you are going to read!
